Brown Lentils (organic) - 500g
Named for their ‘lens’ shape and available in a variety of colours, lentils have been nourishing man for millennia. These tiny nutritional giants are rich in fibre and a good source of protein. In addition to having a host of other nutrients, lentils are low in fat and low in sugar. They are a staple in vegetarian diets.
Quick and easy to prepare, lentils readily absorb a variety of wonderful flavours from other foods and seasonings. They’re great in soups and stews.
To prepare: Rinse lentils before cooking. Put 1 cup of lentils into 4 cups of boiling water. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes until tender. Add seasoning as desired.
