Moist, rich and unrefined, our muscovado sugar is a fine, soft, crystalised sticky sugar . It’s sensational in sweet and savoury dishes alike, and pairs especially well with spices, chocolate and coffee. Muscovado sugar retains the nutritional value of whole molasses and can be used in place of soft brown sugar. Made in northern Peru by small-scale farmers.

Muscovado is the real traditional unrefined soft brown sugar that retains the genuine molasses from the sugar cane. Refined brown sugars are made by coloring or ‘painting’ white refined sugar with syrups and/or refined molasses. Try Muscovado against a refined brown sugar and really ‘Taste the Difference’.

Whats the difference between Muscovado and Demerara? Both are brown sugars, made from evaporated cane juice but demerara is processed for less time and so has a drier, coarser texture than muscovado. It is also usually lighter than muscovado in colour as it has a lower molasses content. Muscovado is stickier and finer, and due to it's higher molasses, stronger in flavour.
