Ceres Freekeh is made from young, green wheat that’s gently roasted and rubbed to remove the tough outer husk, leaving behind a part-roasted kernel. This unique process allows the raw wheat’s naturally occurring nutrients to be retained. This wholegrain food is high in dietary fibre and digested slowly by the body. Freekeh has a magical smokiness with a firm, chewy texture, making a flavourful alternative to other grains.

  • Cook 1 cup of freekeh in 2 ½ cups of water or stock. Bring to the boil, then gently simmer until all liquid is absorbed and the grains are soft, about 15-20 minutes.

As with other whole grains, freekeh has low GI, meaning that it takes longer to digest - keeping you feeling full for longer and providing sustained energy.
