Wild Rice (Long Grain, Canadian) - 500g & 1kg
Canadian wild rice has long, black spindly needles which despite its name, is not actually a type of rice at all. Rather, it is the seed of an aquatic grass, that rows naturally in shallow freshwater marshes and along the shores of streams and lakes.
It’s a very good source of protein and is high in antioxidants. The grains are nutty and smoky, and have a chewy outer layer and tender inside. They pop open and ‘flower’ when cooked.

Ingredients: Wild Rice
Origin: Canada
Enjoy Me...
- Great in both hot and cold dishes (e.g. salads) and with both savoury and sweet recipes.
- Fabulous in both creamy and broth-based soups and pairs wonderfully with mushrooms.
How Interesting...
- Wild rice varies in shape and colour from lake to lake, but once cooked, it is always some shade of luminescent milky brown—the color of tea spilled onto a saucer.
