Red Clover Sprouting Seeds (Organic) - 500g or 1kg

Like most sprouts, red clover with its crisp texture and nutty flavour tastes great, so it's a great addition to your kitchen.  You can simply pick away at the sprouts whenever you feel a bit peckish!  They are also a great addition to salads & sandwiches... or be adventurous and add them to all kinds of meals... pancakes, smoothies, potato salads, or even an ommlette.  Plus the health benefits are fantastic...

  • Red clover is considered to be one of the richest sources of isoflavones, which are water-soluble chemicals that act like oestrogens. Red Clover is therefore used for hot flashes/flushes, PMS, breast enhancement and breast health as well as lowering cholesterol, improving urine production and improving circulation of the blood.
  • Red clover is also a source of many valuable nutrients including calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C
  • High in Protein (appprox. 25%)
  • Abundant anti-oxidant levels – these significantly increase your energy levels, and provide anti-aging benefits for the skin.
  • Red Clover is high in  phytochemicals, particularly genistein, which has been found to help prevent the formation of new blood vessels in cancer tumours, impeding further growth.
  • Clover sprouts are the main dietary source of isoflavones, above any other superfood. Studies have shown that isoflavones can significantly reduce the risk of cancer.

Clover is easy to grow, and produces a beautiful green leaf that is lighter green than Alfalfa. 1g of seed will produce 7g of sprouts. Harvest after 6 days.

Enjoy Me...

  • Add sprouts to your favourite sandwich, salad or stirfry for extra flavour, texture and nutrition. Or try them as a topping on scrambled eggs, omelette or avocado.

How Interesting...

  • In the 19th century, Red Clover was popular with herbalists as a blood purifier. Chinese physicians and Russian folk healers also used it to treat respiratory problems. Red Clover contains four isoflavones common in the Asian diet, thought to be the reason why Asian men have a lower incidence of prostate cancer.
  • Sprouting is the natural germination process by which seeds or spores put out shoots, plants produce new leaves or buds, or other newly developing parts experience further growth. In the field of nutrition, the term signifies the practice of germinating seeds, to be eaten raw or cooked.
