Matcha Powder (Organic) - 70g

Matcha is green tea leaves that have been ground into a fine powder. However, because you consume the entire leaf  (unlike green tea, where you let the leaves steep then discard them) matcha and it's benefits are considerably more concentrated.  In fact one cup of matcha tea is the nutritional equivalent of 10 cups of regularly brewed green tea and it contains 137 times the antioxidants!

Ingredients: Certified Organic Matcha Powder

Origin: Packed in New Zealand from imported ingredients (Japan)

Certification: BioGro Organic

Enjoy Me...

  • Add 1/2 a teaspoon of this concentrated superfood to just about anything – smoothies, juices, desserts. Or enjoy as a nourishing tea.
  • If you are after something a little bit special, try replacing the majority of the water with coconut milk. Believe me, if you are a coconut fan, you will love this.
  • Matcha also makes a wonderful green food colouring. I for one look for natural food colouring alternatives and over the summer used matcha to enhance the colour of my homemade fejoa icecream. I also used it to colour the icing on the "green" of my golf-mad mother's birthday cake. It worked a treat!

How Interesting...

  • Matcha is favoured by Buddhist monks as natural fuel for the mind, body and soul. With just a third of the caffeine of coffee, balanced by its unique nutrient composition, matcha powder has a special focussing effect.
  • It's jam-packed with antioxidants, including the powerful cancer-fighting catechin EGCg.
  • It's a metabolism booster and therefore increases the bodies ability to burn fat. Plus it's loaded with natural polyphenols that support detoxification.
