Organic Adzuki Beans - 1kg & 500g
Adzuki beans are referred to in Macrobiotic cooking and Asian cultures as the 'yang' or 'warming' of beans’. This russet-coloured bean has a strong, nutty, sweet flavour and is easy to digest. Its nutritional profile features a good source of protein and dietary fibre with low fat and low sugar. Plus, it is naturally gluten-free. Adzuki beans are particularly popular in oriental cuisine where they are commonly cooked to a soft consistency and used in confections, made into cakes and sweetmeats and added to rice soups and salads.
To cook: Soak 1/2 cup of beans overnight. Drain and simmer in 2 cups of water (or stock) for 40-60 minutes until soft. If you don’t have time to soak the beans, pressure cook for 15-20 minutes.

Enjoy Me...
- Make your own veggie burgers by combining adzuki beans into patties with other beans, grains, vegetables, and spices.
- If you enjoy sprouting then these are very rewarding little sprouts which grow easily and quickly for salads and garnishes. Simply soak them for 8-12 hours and then rinse & drain. Leave them in a sprout bag or jar. Repeat the rinse and drain cycle 2-3 times for little bouncy sprouts!
