Quinoa Black (Organic, Gluten Free, Bulk) - 3.5kg, 10kg & 25kg

Organic Black Quinoa is the perfect rice substitute. It is cooked in a similar manner as rice, and has light, fluffy and slightly crunchy texture and a slightly nutty flavour that can help enhance your dishes. Dry quinoa can also be the perfect addition to your soups, stews, cereals, or any other meal you want to bulk up with an extra dose of nutrition.  Black Quinoa is easy to prepare and super versatile – simply use like any other grain.

Black quinoa has more of an earthy flavour than white quinoa and is ever so slightly sweeter.

Ingredients: Certified Organic Black Quinoa

Origin: Peru

Certification: BioGro Organic

Enjoy Me...

  • For the best flavour and a fluffy texture be sure to rinse your quinoa before cooking. Quinoa has a natural coating called ‘saponin’ which is its natural defence against insects, birds etc. Rinse it off to remove any hint of bitterness.
  • Once cooked, fluff with a fork and let it come down to room temperature. Be sure to remove the lid whilst cooling. This helps dry the quinoa out, preventing it from getting gluey and clumpy.

How Interesting...

  • Quinoa is a ‘pseudo-grain’ which means that although we use it as a grain it is actually a seed. This means it is higher in nutrients and protein than most grains. Quinoa is high in Manganese and a source of Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Copper.
