Bulk Buckwheat (Hulled, Organic) - 3.5kg, 10kg & 25kg

Originating thousands of years ago in China, buckwheat has been a part of the diets of many Asian and European cultures for many years. It is used to make Japan's beloved soba noodles, delicious gallettes in France and blinis in Russia.

Organic Buckwheat groats have gained popularity because despite their name they are wheat free and naturally contain no gluten.  They can be used like a grain but are actually a seed. Similarly to quinoa and amaranth, buckwheat is referred to as a ‘pseudo-cereal’ or ‘pseudo-grain’ as it is a seed that can be used like a grain. A heavyweight in nutrition, each tiny seed is packed with beneficial antioxidants, essential amino acids, complex carbohydrates, fibre and other nutrients.

Ingredients: Organic Hulled Buckwheat

Enjoy Me...

  • Roasting buckwheat before cooking creates an earthier, nuttier taste and aroma.
  • We like buckwheat best in a garden style salad with fresh herbs and finely chopped vegetables but it can also be used in the place of rice and other grains in any recipe.
  • Fermented Buckwheat Bread is a real favourite at our place - and it's so easy! You only need three ingredients - buckwheat groats, water and salt. Want to know more...get in touch. I would love to share this recipe with you.
  • Try buckwheat porridge on a cold day!
