Arrowroot /Japanese Kuzu Starch - 150g

Arrowroot is a natural plant-based thickening powder.  It is often used in gluten-free baking or as an alternative to flour or gelatin in  baking, desserts, sauces, soups or broths.  This Kuzu root has been carefully mashed, cleaned and filtered to remove the inedible fibres. It then goes through a meticulous drying process.

  • Before use, crush with the back of a spoon. Dissolve in cold liquid before adding to anything hot. Stir constantly when heating until liquid becomes clear.
  • Since it is devoid of protein, it must be mixed with other flour alternatives in order to have an effective result. It is also entirely tasteless, thickens at cold temperatures and is not weakened by acid (unlike cornstarch), but does not mix well with dairy.
